A graduate with a BS in Business Administration from Texas Christian University, Houser’s career in the industry began in 1985 as a sales rep for Harris 3M, later to become Lanier Worldwide.
Having rapidly climbed the corporate ladder, Phil Houser left Lanier to start a cartridge remanufacturing business. After two years as a sales rep, Houser was promoted to sales manager. Not long after that promotion, at age 26, he became the youngest district manager in the company. Firmly rooted in Albuquerque, took money out of his 401k to start DSI, working out of a 10 x 10 office in his home where he built a $10m enterprise business selling cartridges.
Houser went on to create a rudimentary managed print program, eventually bundling in service, further accelerating DSI’s growth. After a few years as a cartridge remanufacturer and managed print services provider, DSI started selling copiers and printers, initially taking on the Kyocera line before switching to Konica Minolta. After nearly 20 years as a single-line Konica Minolta dealer, the dealership recently partnered with Sharp in support of a local acquisition and to offset some of the supply chain problems the industry is experiencing. DSI also sells HP and Lexmark A4 devices and printers, as well as Epson A4 and A3.
Managed services was then added as the result of winning a $1.4m RFP. Today, DSI manages about 7,000 devices with a staff of 12.
Since 1997, Document Solutions Inc. (DSI) has been a fixture in Albuquerque, New Mexico, evolving from a cartridge remanufacturer to a supplier of document imaging technology and security cameras, AV, VoIP and managed IT services with three locations and 75 employees.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jocelyn Gorman, executive vice president at Document Solutions, Inc. (DSI) and president of DSI Technologies, attended the University of Denver, where her academic career focused on global economics, international politics, business, and Italian. She spent her junior year in Milan where she was able to test out to attend a local university, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Jocelyn returned to Denver to complete her bachelor’s with the intention of returning to Italy to help students with their academic experiences in Italian universities.
Post graduation, Jocelyn worked for All Copy Products as a sales representative focusing on the downtown Denver territory.
She then moved into her role at DSI working as part of the initial management team. Beginning as a field rep, she landed a large medical account, which served as the launching pad for DSI Technologies, DSI’s IT company.
In 2015, Jocelyn started DSI Technologies to service this one client and has since grown to cover 7,000 PCs across New Mexico, supported by 19 IT technicians, two NOCs, led by Gorman as its president.
John started his career in 1990 working for Arthur Andersen. He is a CPA, MBA and FHFMA. He has 15
years in healthcare having been CFO at ENMMC, in Roswell, and RMCHCS, in Gallup. John spent 12
years in retail markets working with pawn shops, grocery, feed and convenience stores. He has been
the CFO at DSI since January 2022. He is enjoying the opportunity of facilitating DSI’s growth into the
future.
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Jason Bradley, vCIO for DSI Technologies, attended college at both the Santa Fe Community College and UNM Anderson School of Management where his focus was on MIS (Management Information Systems). Jason started his IT career as a Data Systems Supervisor for UNM Career Work. He then really cut his teeth in to his IT career with an IT Support Specialist role with Eclipse Aviation. Between Eclipse and his current role with DSI, Jason also built his IT career with organizations such as: TLC Plumbing and Utility, First Nations Community HealthSource, Millennium Communications, BPWC Public Accountants, and also spent 2 years as an IT Consultant working on his own. Jason joined DSI in February of 2016 where he helped grow DSI Technologies in to one of the leading Managed IT Services companies in NM servicing over 7000 PC’s across the state of New Mexico.
Jason moved to NM after graduating High School in Smyrna, Ga. in 1992. He had always loved NM and has had roots in the state since the early 20’s. Jason is a proud father of 2 adult children and a grandfather of 6 granddaughters. One of Jason’s favorite things to do is camping with his family in the mountains of Northern NM. Jason also has a slight golf addiction and likes to travel as well.
Julie started her career in retail management in the Pacific Northwest transitioning into Human Resources as a mid-career move.
She earned a bachelor’s degree at Goerge Fox University, in Management of Human Resources and a master’s in Organizational Development at University of Phoenix.
Julie brings an extensive operational management background with experience in all aspects of a
human resources management position including, strategic planning, staffing planning including recruitment and retention programs, job design, compensation programs to include benefits planning and implementation, performance measurement systems, and organizational development.
She has worked both as an internal HR professional and for several years as a human resources consultant in her own firm. With this opportunity came the chance to work with many businesses in a wide variety of industries.
