This year, DSI’s Founder and CEO, Phil Houser, mentored a team of University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management Seniors during the 14th annual National Team Selling Competition (NTSC) hosted by Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
NTSC 2020 is a three-student team selling competition. Each team had two 20-minute virtual appointments with two representatives from a fictitious company. The competition kicked off on Wednesday with a virtual welcome and instructions and concluded Friday with a case debrief and the announcement of competition, MVP’s, and winners. In the spirit of real-world selling, the case and judging rubric were available two weeks prior to the competition. 30+ universities competed included our own University of New Mexico!
Our team worked for a fictitious company called Tech Spot and represented a new robot called Helping Hand. In this scenario we had just secured two appointments to meet with a new prospective retail client, Hats Off To You. The goal was to sell Helping Hand. Considering their upcoming busy holiday season, Hats Off To You was asked for virtual meetings. Our three-person student team represented the fictitious Helping Hand sales team. Hats Off To You is a chain of grocery stores located in the Midwest region of the United States.
Our students created and presented a compelling, engaging, and effective presentation, complete with visuals!
A huge congratulations to our UNM team for their two exemplary performances!

And of course, Phil Houser, DSI Founder and CEO, for all of his hard work and mentorship of the team!
